Some more investment

It’s been another expensive few days. Another machine has been ordered from Russia which is a rare machine but it gets rave reviews from everyone who owns one. I’ve ordered a few optional extras that should allow me to sharpen more then just convex scissors with it. Its design even lends itself to adding a water cooling using a mist spray as the plate is on a separate bearing housing to the motor. That however is a project for the future.

I have also paid the balance of the scissor and clipper sharpening course and instead of going for the standard 3 day course I am sticking around for an extra day so I can hone my skills (pun not intended). It is a popular course with some folk coming from all over Europe when we could travel todo the training. The instructor has been around the world training in sharpening. i am looking forward to it and i will be one of very few in Scotland who have done this.

All of this brings this close to a 5 figure investment in training and equipment.

I’ll be traveling down this Sunday which is an 8 hour drive.

The return journey is on Friday the 28th but the trip back will take a bit longer as I am going into see >>Not telling you yet<< at stupid o-clock who offer a range of high end hairdressing scissors and they are bringing in a range of scissors aimed at the grooming market. I will becoming one of their agents in Scotland

After them it is an hour or so up the M6 to go and see >>not telling you yet<< to spend a morning with their technical team doing some product training as well as seeing the production line. I hope to become an official agent allowing me to carry spares as well as offering new machinery and servicing of their range of clippers for large animals.

If there is anyone in the world of scissors, knifes or clippers you’d like to see us trying to work with please leave a comment below. Also if you offer scissors etc and want to work with us then leave a comment or get in touch.

I don’t have any interesting pictures but here have a mock-up of the van signage.
