A day out at Geert’s

Back in the storms at the start of this year amongst the devastation the old dead tree at the end of our road came down and the farmer said I could take it for firewood. After chopping you the thin bits curiosity took the better of me and i sliced one log along it’s length. Then I gave it a quick sand and I quickly realised the error I was in the process of committing. This wasn’t really firewood grade.

Time for plan B

After some nice words to the farm worker the tree was on the trailer

So how to turn this into something useful?

One of my customers is Swaans crafted interiors who once in a while gets a sawmill in

At the end of the day I left with a trailer load of elm planks

And what have I got from this?

Have a look below in the gallery

What am I going todo with it?

No idea but I am open to suggestions. it only will take a couple of years for it to dry out.
